Throughout the season of Lent, we are setting aside space to rest in the presence of God. During Lent, we join our prayers with the psalmist who prayed:
"Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139.23-24
The desire to be 'searched' by God is anchored in the confident belief that He will meet us right where we're at. It is with great anticipation that we invite Jesus to the deepest places of our lives, believing that his searching, trying, and telling is always unto everlasting life.
Join us on Wednesday nights in Lent for a time of worship, scripture reflection, and prayer. It is our prayer that, as we gather on these nights, the Lord would do beautiful, restorative things, preparing our hearts to more fully enter into the journey of Holy Week and the celebrations of Resurrection Sunday!
The sanctuary will be ready and quiet by 6:30 p.m. You're welcome to come anytime between 6:30 & 7 to prepare your heart for the evening. At 7, we will start our evening together in sung worship, followed by a scriptural reflection presented by one of our clergy. The teach will invite you to reflect further upon the scripture using some intentional questions, passages of scripture, or other formative exercises.
During the time of personal reflection, prayer teams will be available to pray with you. We will invite anyone desiring prayer for healing body, soul, and spirit to come and receive from the God who loves to restore us!
Come as you are! Pray as you come - and maybe try to come a bit early to quiet your heart - preparing to open your life up to God.
You may want to bring a bible and a journal for writing.
