This week we spent time toghether as a community looking back over the rest of this series. Colossians 3 is a beautiful but challenging pastoral encouagement to the church. It reminds us of some key things regarding worship - "And whatever you do in word of deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him." Colossians 3.17
- We worship by our posture toward God, but key to worship is also our posture toward one another
- Thankfulness is a foundational part of our worship
- While worship is far more than singing, singing has always been and continues to be an essential way in which we express our lives of worship
- All we are and all we do can be an expression of worship.
Here are the questions we discussed in small groups... I encourage you to take some time to contemplate them for your own life today:
-
What does it look like for you to ‘Worship in Real Time’ right now?
-
Identify a significant area of life for you right now (ie. work, hobby, relationship) - and share how that area can be for you a place of worship.
-
Give Thanks! Once everyone has had a chance to share, take some time to pray together giving glory and thanks to God. Try and be specific:
-
Is there 1 thing about who God is that you want to worship Him for today
-
Is there 1 thing that He’s done/is doing for you right now that you want to thank Him for?
